Frequently asked questions and answers
Q: How important is it to fix damages to my house after a natural disaster?
A: It’s extremely important to have those damages fixed. By fixing those damages you are preventing additional elements from entering your house. Not fixing damages to your home will cost much more in the long run.
Q: How does storm damage affect my future insurance claim?
A: Most insurance companies cover single events. If you have damages to your roof and water has been getting into your attic, the wood will rot letting the adjuster know these damages are due to multiple events that were neglected
Q: how important is it for me to keep my house updated?
A: It’s imperative to the value and comfort of your home. If you are planning to at some point sell your home, most buyers don’t want a house that will cost them much more to fix it. Keeping your home up to date allows you to enjoy your home while, ensuring the value of your home. Why fix your home right before you sell it and not enjoy what you have worked for?
Q: What rooms do you get the most value out of by updating
A: I would have to say kitchens and bathrooms. Basements make the biggest impact because they provide square footage, however they typically add up to $10,000 to the value of your home while you may spend much more on a larger basement. When updating your home do it for you and your family, don’t do it for the future sell of your home.
Q: what’s the most important clue to look at when hiring a contractor?
A: to me it would have to be the first appointment. I think the first impressions say a lot about the person. If a contractor shows up late to the first appointment, that should be your clue that they will be undependable. Another factor is how they show up. If they consider you important, they will take the time to properly groom themselves and come to your house in clean attire. There is nothing more disturbing to me then someone coming into my house with dirty shoes, with B.O. and trying to shake my hand with filthy hands. Reviews are extremely important. Reviews tell me they made in impact on someone and they took the time to go online and let others know what that impact was.
